OBSCURE AIRCRAFT
The original Obscure Aircraft plans. Recreate aviation history with these miniature vintage Reproductions!

From the original 1973 Plans and Things catalog:
Our firm is the outgrowth of Obscure Aircraft, founded during 1964 with only five vintage aircraft plans. The initial reaction to these offerings was rather underwhelming, and the concept was nearly dropped for lack of support. Most of our potential customers, it seemed, were interested in more "sophisticated" models. (i. e. bigger, louder, more complicated and expensive) Yet, a number of encouraging letters were received from a tiny band of people who shared our enthusiasm. Soon, we were joined by other designers with ideas akin to our own. And, we resolutely clung to the notion that there was a need for small and relatively simple aircraft model designs, and the line was expanded.
By 1972, to our pleasant surprise, orders had been received from all 50 United States, plus 25 foreign countries, proving that we were not alone in our thinking.
